Crossing Two Borders
IMAGINE ESCAPING PERSECUTION AND DEATH THREATS IN YOUR HOME COUNTRY, JUST TO BE TURNED AWAY AS YOU REACH EL PASO.
Every day, four LGBTQ+ people are murdered in South and Central America, and of all the deaths of transgender individuals surveyed in 2016, 78% occurred in these countries. Refugees come to border in Texas seeking Asylum because their lives depend on it, but they are frequently turned away because they do not have the resources needed.
We as the friends, family members, neighbors, and supporters of the transgender community and our fellow humans in South and Central America can become involved by learning about the needs and issues facing these refugees and becoming allies. This website is here to provide you with all the tools needed to become empowered to be part of the solution.
